Dentistry is the right blend of art, science, and technology. This saying is proved by dental Crowns and bridges. It makes you look pretty as same as in a picture by covering your broken, missing, or damaged teeth.
Dental Crowns:
A dental crown is like a cap which covers the whole visible portion of the tooth, protecting its existing structure and restoring its original appearance, size, and color. Crowns are placed over a damaged or decayed tooth to improve the strength of a tooth. It covers a tooth above the gum line and enhances the natural appearance of a tooth. There are a few reasons why a porcelain crown may be necessary for you. The most common is serious tooth decay, in which filling, inlay, or onlay would simply not be enough to avoid the cavity. You may even require a crown to patch a tooth that has been broken or is at the final stage of a root canal or dental implant procedure.
At O Shreeji dental clinic, our porcelain crowns are custom designed to match your smile design. We specialise in crowns that are tooth coloured and look much like your real teeth.
Dental Bridges
Did you lose one or more teeth? Then maybe you are perfect for a dental bridge candidate. A bridge is a well crafted porcelain filling that bridges the gap and it looks like your natural teeth which restores your smile back to its normal shine and health. As the name suggests, this treatment ‘bridges’ the gaps created by missing teeth with the support of existing teeth/implants. Bridges allow your teeth to function normally and are strong as it is anchored to your real teeth. Dental bridge is fixed in a place and is considered as a better option by many for removing partial dentures. If this is the right treatment for you, we are here to help you.

Crown and bridge
What is Crown and Bridge?
A crown, sometimes known as dental cap, is a type of dental restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant. Crowns are often needed when a large cavity threatens the ongoing health of a tooth. They are typically bonded to the tooth using a dental cement.
A bridge is made up of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap — these two or more anchoring teeth are called abutment teeth — and a false tooth/teeth in between. These false teeth are called pontics and can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials. Dental bridges are supported by natural teeth or implants.
Crowns:
Crowns fix and protect carious or damaged teeth and need more support than a simple filling.
Also known as caps, it restores damaged teeth and mimics the shape and color of the surrounding teeth
Crowns are indicated for :
- Cracked teeth
- Teeth with deep cavities
- Teeth that has undergone RCT
- To provide extra support to the bridges
- To cover poorly shaped or discolored tooth
Bridges:
When a tooth is lost, a bridge can replace the lost tooth taking support of neighbouring teeth. A bridge helps to restore and maintain natural bite, prevents unnatural stress on other teeth, helps to keep opposing and neighbouring teeth in their proper place and prevent further dental decay and gum disease, maximizes your smile, speech and chewing function.
Bridges are used to replace a small number of missing teeth when the neighbouring teeth are healthy and have good periodontal support. Condition of supporting gums and bone are important factors which should be assessed prior to making a bridge.
Crown can be made of different materials like Metal, Porcelain, Porcelain fused to metal, Zirconia and Metal free ceramics. These crowns are custom made and mimic natural teeth. A combination of metal and ceramic can be used for better support and strength of the crown and simulates the appearance of natural teeth. The teeth to be crowned are prepared which involves reduction of the tooth size followed by recording the impression. The impression is sent to laboratory where skilled technicians will fabricate the crown and meanwhile a temporary crown can be prepared and cemented on to the prepared tooth temporarily.
